Media Involvement

As general interest in the SCA has grown, so too has the interest the media has shown towards us. Because of this, the Society Office has established rules and guidelines for dealing with the media - Media Relations and External Publicity Society Senechal's Policy. They have also established the office of Media Relations in order to assist groups, officers, and Event Stewards with this. Contact your group's Media officer (if there is one) or the Kingdom Media Relations Officer for further assistance.

What it Means to Event Stewards

  • If you are informed that any type of media (television, newspaper, magazine, etc) will be at your event, contact your local/Kingdom Media Relations Officer as soon as possible.
  • If any type of media shows up at your event unannounced, contact your group's Seneschal, local, or Kingdom Media Relations Officer (if they are at the event) and ask them to speak to the media person(s). If none of those people are at your event, locate any group Seneschal, Baron / Baroness, or Majesty and request for them to talk to the media.
  • Report any media instances (whether good or bad) to the Kingdom Media Relations Officer within 7 days.
