Lex Atenveldtus section VIII. C. 5. specifies that in Atenveldt, there shall be an Arts and Sciences Collegium, with the date to be determined by the Kingdom Seneschal in the preceding year.

This page contains information specific to Kingdom Arts and Sciences Collegiums only.

Please see Kingdom Events: General Information for important additional information.

Mandatory Projected Profit

Per Thegn Robin, Kingdom Seneschal (May 7, 2006 Kingdom Calendar meeting), Kingdom Event bids must have a projected profit as listed in the yearly Kingdom budget. The Kingdom Financial Committee will not consider bids that do not meet this projected Kingdom profit margin. As per the Atenveldt 2007 Annual Budget printed in the March 2007 Southwind, Kingdom A&S Collegiums must make a minimum of $500 profit for the Kingdom of Atenveldt.

Kingdom Officer Involvement

Since this is a Kingdom event, the appropriate Kingdom Officers will be in charge of their areas. As soon as you receive notification that you have been awarded the bid, contact them and request their assistance. They generally expect to be running each area, but it is courteous to ask and not just assume they will be helping. At the time you contact them, ask what assistance they will need from you.

The Kingdom Officers involved are generally the following:

  • Kingdom Arts & Sciences Minister - In charge of the class aspects
  • Kingdom Herald - In charge of any court heralding needed
  • Kingdom Exchequer - In charge of Troll

Sometimes the Kingdom Officer themselves are not able to attend the event, in which case they will find an authorized individual to cover their area.

Things to Consider

For the most part a Kingdom Collegium is run very similarly to a local Collegium, except that financing comes from Kingdom Coffers and the Kingdom A&S Minister should be assisting.

Before putting in a bid, it's a good idea to contact the current Kingdom A&S Minister . Some Ministers can be, and want to be, more involved than others. Find out to what extent they would like to be involved in assisting with the gathering of teachers, scheduling, etc. Take their input into consideration when putting together the bid and during planning.

After receiving notification of being awarded your bid, contact the Kingdom A&S Minister. Let them know that you got it and again discuss their involvement. Remember to request their assistance and don't just assume that they will be helping. Generally they expect to help on some level but it is courteous to ask.

Usually you will have a larger pool of teachers to pull from for a Kingdom event as opposed to a local event. Many of the challenges are the same, however. Please see the Collegiums page for tips and more information.
